Our current healthcare system does a remarkable job of developing and providing treatments for human illnesses. In our highly-advanced focus on treatment, disease prevention is often de-emphasized. We can enter a cycle of more medications, more side effects, more cost and frustration. Sometimes people long for a way to reduce medication burden and follow a more natural approach.

Believe it or not, 60% of US adults have at least one chronic health condition, like hypertension or diabetes, and about 40% of adults deal with more than one. This translates to lots of medications, lots of side effects, lots of medical appointments, and abundant interactions with our current healthcare approach.
US Chronic Health Condition Pie Chart
In modern America, up to 70% of illness may be preventable through lifestyle changes, proper nutrition, supplementation, and mindful living. Our diets are depleted of vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids and other nutrients due to the decreasing quality of our food supply and our busy lifestyles. Combining a healthy diet and dietary supplements is the best approach to achieve optimal levels of essential nutrients.

Several factors contribute to the decline in food quality in the past years. Fruits and vegetables have been genetically modified for shelf life and high yield. Fertilization of the soil has altered the composition of plants. Increased atmospheric carbon dioxide can diminish the level of micronutrients found in food plants. Our farming practices have changed, with the addition of hormones or antibiotic treatments given to animals. These changes also, have led to lower levels of critical nutrients in our food supply. Unlike foods, high quality nutritional supplements have the benefit of providing consistent levels of vitamins and minerals. As the name suggests, supplements are to be used to supplement a healthy diet, “in addition to” and not “instead of”.

The concept of Emlah Naturals™ was born of a desire to not only provide superior quality supplements, but more importantly to provide valuable information regarding intelligent, individualized selection of supplements. Supplement selection is based on individual needs, careful consideration of mechanism of action, handling by the body, and any possible interaction with other supplements or with prescription medications.
Emlah Tubuo Found of Emlah Naturals
Prior to earning her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, Emlah Tubuo earned a BS in Microbiology, and an MS in Molecular Biology from Chicago State University. She has lived and studied in both a developed country and the developing African third world country of Cameroon. Her difficult early life experiences had an immense impact on her life perspective, heightening her desire to look deeply into the life of a career both for herself and her patients from a natural perspective.

Dr. Emlah Tubuo served as an Ambulatory Care Pharmacist for Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus Ohio, and as a pharmacist with Kroger. While living and working in her birth country of Cameroon, Emlah suffered from numerous preventable diseases such as Malaria, Typhoid Fever and Dysentery, which kept her out of school several times. This gives her an intense respect for disease prevention and optimization of quality of life.
Emlah is the recipient of numerous awards including the 2018 Ohio Pharmacist Association Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award, the Ohio State University Josephine Sitterle Failer Alumni Award and which recognizes an alumnus who has made outstanding contributions to the community or professional service and 2020 Commitment to Care, Top Women in Health, Beauty and Wellness award.

Emlah’s philosophy is centered around Kindness. It is your body and your temple. There is no spare. And that kindness begins with being kind to your body. We all struggle-choose kindness always!
