CONSULTATION

Opened Vitamin Pill
“More conditions.
More medications.
More side effects.
More frustration.”

60% of U.S. adults have at least one chronic condition, leading to individuals taking multiple medications, causing side effects.

At Emlah Naturals, we want to change this experience for you, as we embrace an Integrative Medicine approach. Traditional Western medicine is condition-based and focuses on prescribing medications to address symptoms, labs, and tests. Functional medicine seeks to identify the root cause in the body that leads to symptoms, focusing on lifestyle changes, supplementation, and nutritional counseling to eliminate the need for medications. Our goal is to find a balance between prescription medications and correcting underlying issues, to reduce medication burden.

Why Should I Use Supplements?

Chronic conditions are often associated with vitamin, mineral, or nutritional imbalances or may require prescription medications that can cause these imbalances. We can help you identify those imbalances and correct them by making recommendations including, but not limited to: nutrition, supplementation, and lifestyle behaviors.

About Me
Eshita is the Nutrition Consultant at Emlah Naturals. She is passionate about spreading her knowledge of science in order to educate and empower others around her. Her most recent projects include: 1) examining the impact of social restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on the lifestyle behaviors in pediatric patients and, 2) investigating the presence of rare genetic mutations in pediatric patients with severe obesity to understand the causes of genetic-related childhood obesity. She also served as a Health Coach at the student-run free clinic at Columbia University, performing telemedicine visits and providing counseling based on the patients’ chronic conditions, including, but not limited to, nutrition, medications/supplements, and exercise. Throughout the pandemic, she has been involved in the Free the Vaccine campaign, promoting advocacy for a sustainably-priced and accessible COVID-19 vaccine. Eshita is also a Crisis Counselor for Crisis Text Line, a 24/7 texting service allowing for individuals to communicate to a counselor about their crises. Lastly, Eshita serves at OhioHealth to empower sexual violence survivors during their emergency room visit, by providing emotional support to further healing.

Aside from the cool stuff that Eshita is involved in, she is working on studying to be a physician and in the future, plans to create a private practice clinic and combine her passion for nutritional counseling and continue clinical research. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, writing, and traveling to unexplored places.

When you book an appointment with Eshita, she uses a holistic approach embedded in kindness by understanding your lifestyle behaviors to come up with a plan that best aligns with your goals.

All-Inclusive Plan

Our all-inclusive approach utilizes nutritional counseling techniques to guide a patient-centered lifestyle plan to meet your goals.

Prior to the consultation, we ask that you fill out the preliminary questionnaire within 48 hours. This questionnaire assesses three components:
Food Diary: you will be asked to write down the foods you consumed over the course of three consecutive days
Wellbeing: there will be a list of three categories of yes/no questions, focused on physical activity, mental and emotional stress, and sleep cycle disturbances
Stressors: you will be asked to check all the applicable events that have occurred to you within the past year
Together, these three components will allow our Nutrition Consultant to create a personalized plan that aligns with guiding you towards a better version of you.

If need be, we will recommend resources such as lab tests, to be completed before the follow-up visits which should be scheduled during the consultation in two weeks time. Ongoing follow-ups can be scheduled based on your comfort level and the Nutrition Consultant’s assessment of your wellbeing.
